I think people come here because they want advice, they have questions and
they don’t know who else to turn to. You would think a gallbladder group
would be where to go to get questions answered, not to be attacked. The
group is for gallstones, it is not called “only post here if you are against
gallbladder removal”.
I think we should all be gracious to people when they come here with
questions. After all we look more knowledgeable when we answer questions
politely. I don’t think I would trust the advice given here if attacked in
this manner.

ACtually I did not say that so please do not quote that under my post!

A friend of mine recently had very painful kidney stones from taking too much
CALCIUM. That’s something to watch out for. I don’t know if a person could
really take too much magnesium because they’d end up in the bathroom and that
would be their clue to cut back a little.
    Amber
    Has anyone had kidney
stones after starting high supplements on magnesium?

Yes, you are exactly right. I’ve read that we need either equal amounts of
cal/mag or double mag to cal. Most multis have this ratio wrong.
    Amber
    Hi, Amber:
Yeah, you can take too much magnesium. But it’s up there in the amount.
I’d have to take 24+ of my pills to get there, which I’m not going to do.
Yes, calcium supplements can cause kidney stones and it’s because of the
lack of sufficient magnesium. There’s a ratio for ca/mg. It’s like ca 2 and mg
1, but now some doctors are saying it should be more like:
2 mg to ca 1 instead. I.e., higher on the mg. end of things.

Too much calcium and not enough magnesium is what causes calcifications
of stones( kidney/gallbladder) It does not have the mg to bind to so it
binds to cholesterol and other matter floating around in the body. thus
stone formation. Malate is a good thing to try. It will thin the bile
somewhat and get it flowing. Really you need a few good oils in the mix
to keep the gall bladder working but it is much better than the animal
fats. That is why olive oil is used for the gallbladder cleanse. You
don’t need to do the actual cleanse, just incorporate a few tsp-tbls
into the diet daily. coconut oil, flax oil and olive oils are good
    choices.
Flax is a good source of omega 3 essential oil. Borage, pumpkin seed,
evening primrose, hemp and other fish oils like cod liver oil, halibut
liver oil and salmon oils are all good sources of essential fatty
acids. I would rotate them so you are getting a good variation.
If you are deficient your body will use what it needs. After a while

you can them back off a little.

I got curious after reading some of the below because I thought I remembered
that this group is for people who are doing everything they can to save their
gallbladders, not for those wishing to have surgery or those who have had
surgery. So I went to the home page to check again. There must be groups for
people to join who have had surgery or are contemplating it that might be a
better source of information for people concerned with surgery. This is what
the first part of our home page says:

stones from the Liver and the Gallbladder.

ake yourself feel better about your decision. The people here want to

get better, but not by losing body parts.<<<

My thought was that someone bent on having surgery might be better served to
find a group dedicated to people who have had surgery or are contemplating
surgery. She might be able to get better answers from various people who have
already gone through it. I haven’t checked, but surely there must be such a
    group.
    Amber
Still, people come here for advice because they don’t know where else to
turn. I stay on, even though I’ve had surgery, because I still like getting
information on doing things naturally. .

I’m sorry if my previous response came through as harsh. I just have learned
how important an organ the GB is and that people need to do what they can to
save it, if possible. I know there are situations where that simply is not
possible. I got frustrated because she was just determined to have the surgery
and didn’t appear to take to heart any advice that so many people offered. I am
extremely involved in helping people to live a healthier life without drugs,
surgery, etc. So I simply gave up and said go ahead, you’ll be sorry later.
I’ve known a few people personally who had the surgery and they do regret it.
And there’s no do-overs, no going back. So I felt that anyone so bent on
surgery really should be seeking information from a group of people who have
gone through it, not a group of people doing all in our power to avoid surgery.
As I said, I have not looked for such a group, but surely there must be one.
But I do apologize for losing my cool. I’m not normally like that.
    Amber
I had a hard time finding gallbladders groups when I looked BUT I do like

the way you worded this. Not that I’m the editor here or anything. :) It
    was much nicer though.

I have read that this is possible. I can’t imagine how upset a person would be
after having surgery only to end up with the same problems and pain. That would
    be just terrible.
    Amber
I remember after I first joined this group years ago, there was a lady from
the U.K. who had her GB removed. Several months afterward she started again
having GB attacks because she had liver stones. I felt sorry for her because
she was still going through the same pain.

Normally you have to go to the website, click on Edit Membership and look toward
the bottom and click on Leave Group.

Oh my goodness. Let’s just hope she dropped out and that nothing happened to
    her.
    Amber
Yes, I know. At first she didn’t know what was happening to her. And you
know what, I have never seen her on here again. Either she just quit the
group or something happened to her.

Most people do only the docs say it is not possible so then the person
suffers in silence because they can’t find the answer.

This is so frustrating for me. I know some people think doctors are god and
follow everything they say with no questions. I feel that it’s our body and we
should do our own research and make up our minds what we want done with our
    bodies.

I can only imagine that progressing to a jaundiced condition was very
frightening. Witchcraft! Holy cow. I hope you have found another doctor by
now. Yes, eating small amounts but frequently is probably better for people. I
know it helped me lose 55 pounds.
    Amber
so my jaundice went away. … That
doctor accused me of being into witchcraft because of the cleanses.
Now I can’t enjoy food like I used to.
I can’t eat much at one time, so I eat little amounts throughout the day,
    which is probably healthier.

Doctors are ranked the third leading cause of death in the US. We are very
fortunate in our M.D. as we live in a very small rural town. According to the
nurses, we have the best doctor in town. That’s a pretty good recommendation.
His first inclination is to send us to a health food store or WalMart for
something rather than to just whip out the Rx pad. His son just graduated first
in his class and is now a doctor, too. When his father, our doctor, retires, we
may try the son. My husband has to go to a Dr. periodically for his diabetes.
I basically only go when the bone is sticking through my skin, ha, ha.
    Amber
    However,
there are decent doctors out there and there will be more on the way because
many are starting to realize the error of the ways they’ve been taught and the
fact that all those overpriced things they call medicine are killing people
and don’t really offer any help to anyone if they don’t kill you first.
