Hello,
My name is Shannon and I’m 26 years old. I was diagnosed with
gallstones about 5 years ago and my attacks can be quite severe and
seem to be happening more regularly. If I’m not in full attack mode,
I have a really strong sick feeling in the area of my gallbladder.
I have done a few cleanses now, which have all been successful in
passing stones, but it doesn’t seem to be stopping the pain.
My doctor has arranged for a consultation with a surgeon in about a
weeks time. This will be my second consultation in 4 years.
I am very leary about side effects if I do decide to have the
surgery. I’m also very tired of the pain…it has caused me to miss
several weeks from work and its not getting any better.
Any thoughts/ suggestions/ opinions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Shannon
Is it time to remove my gallbladder?

Shannon-
A flush is a flush and it’s only a flush. While most people gain some
relief from flushes, it’s only going to be as good as your diet.
I guess I am asking what else you have done to prevent attacks? Have
you changed your diet, do you exercise regulary, have you eliminated
deep fried foods, are you eating pro-gallbladder foods?
We live in a magic pill world and unless we take care of our bodies
for the long term, the pill (or in this case the knife) can seem like
a viable option.
To be prudent though, you’ll need to listen to what the Dr tells you
from your ultrasound and determine from there whether your GB can be
saved.
