  My acupuncturist has a flush recipe which considers this mandatory,
  with number to call and order it. In all honesty I did not research
  its safety, but its purpose (like apple juice) is to soften the stones
  so they do not stick nor tear the ducts on the way out. Stuck stone
  is the only danger I can see to an otherwise healthy person doing a
  flush, so I felt better taking the ortho-phos and will use it again
  next time.
