Hi everyone -
I’m another newbie. I just turned 38 and thought my diet was decent
enough, but I guess I was in denial. My first 3 attacks were spaced
months apart and enough time to forget how excrutiating they are.
The last 3 have been in the space of a month. Two nights ago was
when I finally felt sure that it is indeed gallstones. I’m trying to
take in all the information online and figure out when to start
flushing, given I have a house move looming in 2 weeks. Anyway, I’m
scared about having another attack with no pain control. The ER doc
said vicodin should help. My problem is the only thing that seems to
relieve the pain is vomiting. Has anyone found a successful
painkiller?
Thanks in advance.

If the only way you can relieve the pain is by vomitting, then you are
really in a bad way! I’ve had attacks, but ones like you’re describing is
when I actually went to the hospital. I don’t know if others in the group
would agree….but that’s what I have done when things have gotten that bad.
Don’t worry about the house move–you’re not doing yourself or anyone any
favours by suffering silently–it’s my experience that these things only get
worse (without any treatment).
Painkillers? Well, I have a storehouse of demerol, percacet, acetam with
codine……and to tell the truth, when things get THAT BAD–nothing works.
Nothing. Not even the shots of morphine they give you in the hospital! I was
so desperate last time, I took 2 percacet–and that didn’t even do it.
I am new to the group and am just relating my own experience….perhaps
someone else with more knowledge can give some good advice to you.
Welcome to the group!
