Statistics-question for Agnes

October 30th, 2005 · No Comments

Agnes, or anyone else who can answer this question,
My question concerns the claims by the curezone website, Dr. Clark, and others,
that 80 to 90% of Americans have gallstones, and most are asymptomatic. I’m not
questioning its accuracy….but, do you know the source of this statistic? My
sister took my mom to a doctor this week who claimed that maybe only 10% of the
population has gallstones.
From what I’ve gathered from my mom, she is suffering no painful symptoms
usually associated with gallstones. Yes, she has gallstones, but they are not
causing her any pain; she’s asymptomatic. The only symptom she has which is
remotely associated with gallstones is back pain on the right side…which could
easily be associated with her arthritic condition. She has no soreness in the
abdomen, no burping/indigestion, etc. My sister is pushing for surgery, and I’m
trying to slow things down. Her heart condition makes her a poor candidate for
surgery. IMO, she is more at risk of dying from surgery, than gallstones.
It sure is tough trying to educate people to see things in a different way.

Thanks in advance,
Adrienne
Adrienne;
I believe the actual statement has to do with cancer patients having that
percentage not the general public. This would make more sense considering that
when the body’s primary means of cleansing is clogged cancer and an acidic
environment can take over.
