    Hello,
I’ve taken Dr. Cabot’s Livatone for a good long time without any discomfort.
If it’s giving you discomfort, please hold up on taking it. Maybe you’re
sensitive to something in it right now.
First, how do you take it, in fresh juice like carrot/celery or whatever or
    in organic apple juice?
    Take care,
    Susie

Susie,I take it in capsule form before a meal as directed.I have had
mini & a couple of rough GB attacks recently.I believe this
decongests the liver and thought that it may be a detox reaction.—

Yes, I was taking Livatone Plus and experienced an odd discomfort in the
liver area. I don’t know if the liver was being cleansed by the Livatone Plus
or what so I stopped taking it.

    Hi,
I tried Livatone Plus and it gave me a little discomfort. I use the regular
    Livatone.

Good point, Dale. I was going to tell the person to cut back the amount that
she was taking. Sometimes you have to build up to certain things. I started
drinking Living Fuel Superfood twice a day, but it was hurting me a little
bit around the liver area. So I cut back to once a day, which did help. Now
I’m just taking it every few days or so.

Hi Susie, yes I drink some organic apple juice,I have been
experimenting with many things to find some things that would help so
I can hold on to my gall bladder,so far nothing is working very well.

  • 8 Cole Carmelita // Sep 1, 2005 at 2:58 am

I have been using the regular livatone.

  • 9 Cole Carmelita // Sep 1, 2005 at 6:55 am

one every other day or just one a day. The fact that you are
sensitive to the action of the things you are eating or taking as
supplements will certainly help you in discerning the good and the
bad. I can certainly tell when I’ve done a no no with some types of
    foods.
I will skip a day & try one every other day and see what happens.I
had a mild attack last nite that I stopped from going real bad with
coptis & curcuma.I didnt think I ate real bad but mayme I am
mistaken.I have been eating whole grain bread usually as dry toast
will whole grain cereal for breakfast.I have tried to keep my snacks
to whole grain products. It seems the only time I feel good is if I
dont eat.I also just got super food from Dr Schultz,Should this have
any adverse affects on the situation if anyone knows????

I’ve only been on the list a very short time but one thing I’ve noticed is
that different foods affect people differently and I think I’ve seen at
least two people that couldn’t eat grain or wheat products. I never have a
problem with popcorn even with butter and salt, but cannot tolerate ice
cream. I can eat yogurt with no problem and it even helps! I have even
switched to soy milk. I have no problem with breads, but apples and peaches
drive my gallbladder crazy. Orange juice and grapefruit juice are
lifesavers. I figure the acid in these items helps digest the food. I
noticed on another list that many people cannot eat tomatoes and yet I have
40 tomato plants and eats at least two daily. I wonder if the wheat might
be causing some of your troubles.
I know my Mother has crohn’s disease (another digestive problem) and the
majority of crohn’s patients report an intolerance to wheat. You might try
    some unleavened bread.

I will try some unleavened bread.I never used to have any problem
with anything, some things were distasteful but they never had an
adverse reaction. Now it seems any food in any small quantity is
giving me trouble.Plus I dont know what the effect on the body is of
all these attacks. So far today-distilled water only.we are all a
little different and that makes a cut & dried plan hard to come up
    with.Jim

    Hello,
Yes, you’re right, and just because one food causes someone to have an attack
doesn’t mean that it’s a unhealthy food. Some healthy foods can provoke you
to have an attack. You have to find out what foods may or may not. I used
to not be able to eat eggs, but now I can have a few a week. They don’t
bother me anymore. I can now eat a little of cheese, which doesn’t bother me
now, although I’ve totally switched to white cheese. I don’t eat much but
want a little every so often.

    What does liver stimulation mean?
I was wondering if liver stimulation, if there is such a thing, is a good
    phenomenon or a bad one.

What is the connection between having gallstone attacks and taking this
preparation? Do you belive that these capsules actually brought on the
    attacks?
Is it clear that this preparation *improves* your situation?

  • 15 Cole Carmelita // Sep 3, 2005 at 6:15 am

The attacks are food related.the discomfort may be related to the
attacks.Or the livatone,I am unsure. It is difficult to sort this
out,to figure out where the problem is coming from.

I’m new to the list and have only done one flush. no problems with my GB but
my levels are too high even after taking fish oil for a year and changing my
diet mildly only lowered it from low to mid 300’s to 268 so i thought i’ld
    try this .
    Hello,
Welcome to the list!!! However, if you weren’t new, then you’d know what
Claudia was talking about, a name with three little letters—–IRA!!! He’s
not truly interested in cleansing and that’s why, plus there’s more, but I
    won’t go into it now.
Again, welcome. We need new people who are TRULY interested.
    Take care,
    Susie

    statement:
No. While I understand the use of the term in general parlance, I was
asking if there is a general understanding on what it means to stimulate
    a liver.
If I had asked what the meaning of stimulation of a ballpoint pen meant,
that would not indicate that I don’t understand stimulation as a general
term, but rather what it means in connection to the item under
    discussion.
Is stimulating a liver a good thing or a bad thing?
You may have noticed that I asked that question in my original email. I
stated that “I was wondering if liver stimulation, if there is such a
thing, is a good phenomenon or a bad one.”

Jim, You could also try Ezekial bread if your local health food store
sells it. It’s expensive but it tastes good and there is no flour in
it. However, in every way, it is just like bread. It is made with
sprouted grains, so digests like a vegetable. How long have you been
having problems? I hope you overcome it, but know that sometimes you
can do everything right and still end up having to go medical. I am
not happy that I had to have surgery, but I am thrilled that my pain
is over. At the end, I could not even eat well cooked vegetables. I
was on a mostly liquid diet. I had lost so much weight, I just could
not go on. Good luck. I sure hope you have success. Dawn

    Dawn,
Ezekial bread is good stuff. I haven’t bought any in some time, but I always
    loved the sesame seed type.
Also, glad that you’re so much better. With all the trouble that you were
having, I think that you made the right decision. You were at a point where
    you couldn’t eat anything.

Hi Dawn,I had my first attack about 1 1/2 years ago,I didnt know what
    it was,then about 6 since then in about 3 month intervals,As I
researched I suspected my gall bladder,2 months ago I had an attack
that sent me to ER.Since then I have had rather constant trouble. It
has been difficult to get things sorted out.I have learned that
liquids are very important for about 6 days after a strong
attack, also I am learning about foods that are healing to the GB.I am
still trying and hope I can get it sorted out before its too
late. Thanks for the tips and I will look for the Ezekiel bread.Jim

I had to giggle Claudia. I am sure Ira is a great person, but when I
see his posts I think of Seinfeld. You know how Newman and Seinfeld
are constantly whispering uder their breaths each others names? I can
picture some on this list whispering with a tone. “IRA”!!!. Sorry
