Hello,
Sorry, I accidently sent an e-mail that had nothing in it. Let me start by
saying that I was going to do a cleanse tomorrow, and I’ve been putting my
cleanse off since Feb. 25. For one reason or another, there hasn’t been time
or I haven’t had problems scheduling, which has started me to thinking, and I
wish to have the answers from several experienced GB cleansing people.
Why must I do this if I feel fine? I know that we’re supposed to get
everything out of us that we can. I wanted to do this cleanse closer to
Yahweh’s feast days so I’d be ready for the feast days, but like I said, I
did the cleanse on Feb. 25th, and since I’ve been using Beta-TCP and
magnesium citrate caps daily, I’m feeling very fine. The Beta is supposed to
thin the bile to keep you from forming more stones, the magnesium relaxes the
bile ducts. Then I maintain healthy eating habits. Honestly, I can’t eat
otherwise than healthy now, even though every once in a while I get sloppy.
Let me state that several months ago, probably in about April, I talked to my
two friends who’ve been doing the GB cleanse for about 10 years now. They
both do Dr. Lewis’ cleanse method and were astounded because I was doing this
once a month . They both said: It’s too much! They also said, once or
twice a year is fine, but don’t do this too much. Again, these guys still
have their GBs and don’t have problems. Like them, I’ve changed my diet,
too. Yes, they both eat very healthy, and so do I. These guys had horrible
attacks until they did the cleanses. So they truly understand. Their
doctors wanted them to have surgery over 10 years ago.
So then I thought about Dawn when she just had the surgery and about what she
remembered the surgeon said, Your bile ducts are too enlarged. Sorry, don’t
remember the exact words that she used.
Then I started thinking, maybe the time in between cleanses allows our bile
ducts to gain back some elasticity. Does this make sense to any of you GB
cleansing people who’ve done this through the years? It does me. What if
when we’re doing the cleansing too much, too often, that we stretch out our
bile ducts too much. Dale, you might know about this. I’m just asking and
bringing forth a point. Like I said, my two friends are still doing this
after 10 years, so they must realize something.
One of them said: No one has to have their GB removed, ever (that is, of
course, they catch it early enough.) Not everyone can. And maybe in Dawn’s
or Barry’s case something inside of them could have also been genetic in
cause. I do realize that. In Dawn’s case, she wasn’t able to eat hardly
anything at all, even just veggies, which is a strange situation to me and
demands some other explanation. Wasn’t Dawn losing weight? Shoot, in my
situation, I’m still stuck on this overweight whale size. Something is
weird. BTW, I’m going to be tested for hypothyroidsim, which can prevent you
from losing weight and cause many health-related problems. Maybe Dawn
has/had a GB genetic problem. It’s possible.
Please respond when you can.

Susie;
I was told that I too had enlarged bile ducts when they did an ultrasound of my
liver and gallbladder back in October of ‘99′. I haven’t had another ultrasound
since then but I’m sure that things have surely settled regarding the size of
mine.
However, I do still have to watch what I do eat but havent’ been as good about
that as I know I should. But, I sure don’t go out to eat hydrogenated or
saturated fats contained in the foods I order at resturants.

Susie,
My opinion for what it is worth now that I am gallbladderless is
that if you did a cleanse in Feb and if you are having NO problems,
and if your diet is good, and if you are taking some good
supplements, then you would only NEED to do maintenance cleanses a
couple of times a year to maybe quarterly like Dr. Shulze says.
The surgeon seemed concerned about my enlarged duct because he
thought there might be a stone stuck. He also seemed to think that
the enlargement would be permanent. BUT, it may be genetic for me as
those ducts were pictured enlarged BEFORE I ever did one cleanse.
But, I hardly ever believe doctors and so I do think it is possible
for them to go back down, but have nothing to back that thought up.
Catching it early, which I thought I did, is the key but sometimes
not enough I guess.
Wasn’t Dawn losing weight? Shoot, in my
I lost 35 pounds but had previously been unable to. I think the liver
cleansing helped. I have thought, but cannot back up with tests that
I am hypothyroid based on temperature, blood pressure, and pulse
testing. I also have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and
have adrenal weakness. But, all that I have done for my gb has helped
improve much of that.

I have wracked my brain about why I have had this problem. I have
guessed that losing 30 pounds 4 times, eating a low fat diet all four
of those times, and multiple pregnancies, did me in. Maybe genetics
too, but noone in my family but one great grandmother ever had a
problem. And she was a big lady as I was not. But no female in my
family ever had six children either. It has been so hard to read
about the successes and even hear of them in people I know. “So and
so did one cleanse and never had another problem.” Ugh! Oh well, mine
is over and this week, the post surgery test was eating anything and
everything that I could not eat previously to total toleration. I
have gained back seven pounds and now consider myself at my absolute
best ideal weight. I have a follow up with the surgeon on Thurs. And
to anyone worried, starting tomorrow I am back to my healthy changes
pre-surgery. I will enjoy great health and when there is a social
ocassion, I can eat without guilt knowing that on a daily basis I am
healthy. Of a personal note, we went on vacation this week and I had
a thermographic breast image since my family breast cancer stats are
now so bad. I’ll get the results in 2 weeks. No smashing, no
radiation, no embarassment. Dawn
PS. So far, living without a gallbladder has not been traumatic. It
has gone much better than I ever hoped though I wish I could have
kept it. But hindsight, and having a good surgeon, I might have given
in sooner if I had known it would not be so bad. But, I wanted to
keep my gb so I did the best I could. I hope everyone success.

Dawn,
Thanks for your response. You know, Dr. Cabot talks about Syndrome X, so
maybe that’s what I have. I may have to find out more about it, but you
can’t lose weight. About hypothyroidism, there can be subclinical and it can
cause the same symptoms. Again, I’m trying to learn more about that. I’ve
ordered an at-home test from eBioSafe labs. You send it back to them after
giving a couple drops of blood and they get a doc to analyze the lab results
and send you the results. It’s pretty neat!
Well, I may try a cleanse soon anyway. I’m just feeling fine, which makes it
hard to get in the mood.
Also, you’re saying that your bile ducts were enlarged before? That’s
interesting. Maybe yours are just that way.
Thanks,
Susie

That’s right. Either it was abnormally large to begin with or I had
just passed a stone since the first ultrasound was taken in the ER
during an attack. Dawn

Didn’t you have previous ultrasound imaging with which to compare the
size of your bile ducts? That way you would know if they had just
suddenly become enlarged or that had been the static situation all along.
6 Opal Lurline // Sep 5, 2005 at 12:30 pm
I had 2 ultrasounds, one at the beginning, after about the 4th
attack. The other at the end, 6 months later, 3 days before surgery.
Why would anyone have an ultrasound of their bile ducts, gallbladder,
etc, if they weren’t having any problems? Dawn

My question related to your surprise at the dialed bile ducts. I asked
if they had been so also in previous “ultrasounds”?
If not, then you would have looked for the cause. But if they had, then
you would know that the flushes probably did not cause the condition.
As I stated in my question.
So which was it?

Actually my bile duct was DI-LATED. And I was only slightly surprised
that they started out that way ACCORDING TO THE FIRST ULTRASOUND IN
THE ER!!! This because the Dr thought that the enlargement came from
cleansing, which it did not. They started out that way according to
that ultrasound. I think you are the only one still with questions
about this. However, they may have been normal prior to Christmas
before I had any ultrasounds. But, since I thought I was in good
health at the time, I did not have an ultrasound then. Any more
questions? Come on Ira I am sure you can come up with a dozen more.
And no I did not notice what type of ultrasound machine it was,
whether the technician had a high IQ or whether it had recently been
inspected to see if it was working properly. :O Dawn

That’s the way, girl, spell it out for him. That’s what it takes!
