Hi All,
Just did my first flush Wednesday evening, got mediocre results, and am
hoping for some feedback. First a brief background…
Had a very painful GB attack Saturday night. None of the usual things
for stopping the pain (ES, olive oil/grapefruit juice, foot massage,
etc) alleviated the pain this time around. If anything, it just got
worse. After seven hours of excrutiating pain, I caved in and went to
the ER around 6 am Sunday morning.
The attending physician immediately went into the standard “you are in
serious condition and need your gallbladder taken out right now” speil.
I balked of course, and asked for the pain medications. They put some
demerol in my IV, but it didn’t even touch the pain. I was still in
agony, now going into about hour nine. They did bloodwork and the
doctor came back saying I had a greatly elevated white blood cell count,
which he said indicated a serious infection of the GB. He took my wife
aside and scared the hell out of her, telling her I was going to die if
I didn’t consent to having my GB taken out right then.
To make a long story short, between the pain which had me doubled over
constantly and my wife’s insistance that I submit to surgery (based upon
the scare tactics the doctor used on her) I agreed to have a CT scan
done in preparation for surgery. After having the CT scan done, the
attending physician called my insurance doctor and arranged to have me
shipped to another hospital (the insurance company “approved” hospital)
for the emergency surgery. I was praying to God that if anything could
be done to stop the surgery, please do it, because I sure as hell didn’t
want it. But the ER doctor came out and said my insurance doctor has
“pre-approved” the surgery because of the infection and the severity of
the pain. So off I went. But before leaving I begged the doctor for
another dose of pain meds, and he gave me a shot of Viox.
By the time I got to the other hospital (about an hour later) the pain
had been cut in half by the Viox. This was now about hour 10 or 11 of
this ordeal. I checked in at the hospital and the attending physician
there came in and poked and prodded and asked me how I was feeling. I
told him that thanks to the pain meds the pain had dropped from a “10″
on a scale of 10, to a “4″ or “5.” He left for awhile, and when he came
back he said that there would be no surgery! He said my insurance
doctor had denied the surgery. Well, honestly, I was half relieved
(because it seemed that my prayers were answered), and half ticked off
(because I had finally resigned myself to the idea of having the
surgery, even against my better judgement, and now the %#!holes were
dropping me like a hot potato).
I asked why the surgery was being denied if I had such a serious
infection. And why the other doctor had told us that my condition was
so serious that I could “die” if I didn’t have the surgery. And this
doctor proceeds to tell us that the doctor from the other hospital was
now denying he had ever stated that I had an infection or that I would
“die” if I didn’t have the surgery!
So, I asked this doctor, “Then why the hell did he call my insurance
doctor and have me shipped up here for surgery? Why did they give me a
CT scan?” And he just said, “Well, I have my own ideas as to why they
have done this to you, but I cannot say anything else. All I know is
that your insurance doctor says no to the surgery, and the doctor at the
other hospital says you do not have an infection, and that he never said
you had one, either.”
So, a total of 17 hours later I end up going home, with my gallbladder
still hurting, but intact. It took me two days of bed rest to recover
from the ordeal. The pain had really taken the wind right out of my
sails.
On the third day after this fiasco, my wife and I went in for an
appointment with the insurance doctor to see why the emergency surgery
had been denied. And guess what? Right off the bat he starts
pressuring me to have the surgery! He says that it is imperative that I
have it right away! When I ask him “Then why in the world did you deny
the surgery on Sunday, when I was in agony?” he replies, “The insurance
company only gives us so much money for each medical problem. Emergency
surgery would have cost us three or four times more than non-emergency
surgery. Since you didn’t need emergency surgery, I denied it. But you
DO need to have your gallbladder taken out right away. So, if you don’t
schedule the surgery right now, I’ll have to refuse emergency medical
care for you in the future if you have another gallbladder attack.”
Needless to say, my wife and I were absolutely flabbergasted. Here I
had been strong armed by one doctor into agreeing to the surgery on
Sunday (after being told that I had a serious infection and would “die”
if I didn’t have it), only to have the surgery cancelled at the last
minute by the insurance doctor, who is NOW telling me I must have the
surgery right away or he will deny emergency medical care for me in the
future if I have another serious GB attack!
In essence, during the attack the ER doctor threatened me with death if
I didn’t have the emergency surgery (i.e., “you’ll die if you don’t have
this surgery”). And now, the insurance doctor who turned down that
surgery is threatening me with death again (by saying he will revoke
emergency medical care priviliges) if I don’t have the very same surgery
he refused to give me only three days earlier!
Well, I was so steamed, I left his office refusing to re-schedule the
surgery. I was dumbfounded. Honestly, part of me just wanted to pound
the little putz right there (but I didn’t want to end up in the clink,
and didn’t want to put my wife in that situation) and the other half of
me just wanted to leave in disgust. So I just blew it off and we left.
It is clear that our wonderful medical system has turned us all into
little slaves, and that we must all bow to the demands of our
white-smocked masters under threat of DEATH if we fail to comply! This
is the first time I’ve had medical insurance in many years, and I’ve
heard all of the horror stories about problems with it before, but
really, you can’t fathom what these bast#$%& are doing until you’ve gone
through it personally and seen the depths of their greed and avarice.
The bottom line was that they claimed I didn’t need the surgery on
Sunday when I was in agony (because the emergency surgery would have
cost the medical group too much money i.e., not enough PROFIT in it for
them), but three days later they claim I need the very same surgery
immediately (because it is cheaper and more PROFITABLE for them to do it
as a non-emergency scheduled surgery). And to top it off, if I refuse
to have it they will not treat me for this problem on an emergency basis
ever again! Obviously, the whole thing is about money, and they
couldn’t give a rat’s behind about me, about my health, or about
anything but their own pocketbook.
Anyway, long story short: I came home Wednesday night and did my first
flush (Hulda Clark style) with only mediocre results. During the first
few bouts with diarrhea I got about 50 of what I thought were tiny tan
stones out, but upon closer exam they turned out to be tiny sunflower
seeds! Since I don’t eat sunflower seeds, I checked the 7-grain bread
we eat each day, and sure enough it was full of them. I had eaten
several pieces of toast and honey with soup in the preceding days, as
that was all my stomach could handle. So, that must be where they came
from.
After a few more bouts with diarrhea, I started getting a few tiny green
stones about the size of baby peas. Maybe six or seven of them over a
period of a few hours. Then I got a few green ones that were about the
size of small pinto beans, at the most. I continued to have diarrhea
most of the rest of the day, but only got two or three more stones out.
I probably got 12 to 15 of these tiny green stones in all, and that was
it.
So, I was disappointed, especially in light of all of the success
stories that have been posted here lately, and in light of the fact that
I need to have some better success at this, as I’ve really stuck my neck
out when I dissed the insurance doctor and lost my emergency medical
care priviliges from the insurance (at least in regards to the
gallbladder problem).
I should mention that there were also a few leaf-like things floating in
the toilet basin after several evacuations. I picked them out with a
pair of tweasers and washed them off so I could look at them more
closely and feel them. They were just under a half inch long and an
eighth of an inch to a quarter-inch in width. They were shaped exactly
like small leafs from a tree, and had the same texture and feel as
leafs. They had smooth edges rather than serrated edges. But I do not
think they were leafs. Any comments/ideas as to what this could be?
Also, since the flush (two days ago, now) my stomach and gallbladder
have been in a tremendous amount of turmoil. What surprises me most is
that since the flush, plain old WATER now causes me to have aggravating
gallbladder irritation (sense of fullness and dull pain) which is always
accompanied by sharp stomach cramps just like those I have during a
full-blown GB attack, only nowhere near as painful. Over the past three
months since I’ve joined this group, I’ve been on the watercure program
at www.watercure2.com, with very good results (20 lb. weight loss,
chronic high blood pressure restored to normal, prostate problems
relieved 80% to 90%). But now, since doing the flush, water disturbs my
stomach and GB so much, I cannot drink the required amount for the
watercure program! I am very surprised at this. (I use bottled mineral
water — a good brand — and have followed the watercure program
faithfully, including the sea salt, up until these last few days since
the water has started causing me pain when I drink it.) Perhaps I
should mention that the epsom salts really seemed to burn my stomach a
lot when I was taking them during the course of the flush. I did the
exact amounts listed in the HC book. Could the epsoms have burned my
stomach lining, or something? I mean, it is really weird to have water
cause so much stomach and gallbladder irritation. Does anyone have any
ideas on this? Has anyone else experienced this problem after a flush?
I also tried some freshly juiced apple juice this evening, which has
always been very soothing in the past and has never bothered me. But
the apple juice caused the same irritation in the GB area, as well as
the same kind of stomach pains (sharp, shooting pains) as the water has
been causing. Very strange!
Lastly, I have now begun adding daily doses of lecithin to my diet
(about 1600 mg. per meal). That actually seems to soothe my stomach a
bit. I take a tablespoon of olive oil with each meal, also. I am
eating very small, low fat meals, mostly soup and toast right now as my
guts are very irritated. I am also taking vitamin C (3,000 mg. in the
morning and 3,000 in the evening with meals), along with a good
multi-vitamin/mineral complex. Any ideas as to how much lecithin should
be taken with meals? Is there anything else I should be taking also?
What I am looking for are suggestions from some of the more experienced
flushers here as to what I might do to relieve the chronic irritation in
my stomach, and what I might be able to do additonally in order to help
save my GB. Would appreciate suggestions/ideas for additional
supplements for the liver/gallbladder, or anything else that might be
helpful.
I am going to check with my local health food store tomorrow to see if
they have any of the Udo’s Choice oils. Am also considering ordering
the Livatone Plus from Dr. Cabot. Has anyone tried these, and found
them to be helpful? (I did order Dr. Cabot’s liver books tonite,
online.) I also spoke with Julia Chang today and ordered the Gold Coin
Grass, Curcumin, Coptis and Chinese Bitters, but they will not arrive
until late next week because they were ordered from Canada.
I have made up my mind to do another flush in two weeks. In the
meantime, I want to try to get cleansed internally, alleviate some of
this stomach and gallbladder irritation I’ve been experiencing since the
flush, and do whatever else is necessary to regain my health. Any
suggestions for what steps to take next would be deeply appreciated. I
want very much to save my GB, and not end up under the knife. The last
thing that insurance doctor told me was “You’ll be back, and you will
regret not making the responsible decision you should have made today.”
Frankly, I never want to see him again, unless it is to show him an
ultasound of a healthy gallbladder with no more stones in it!
Any ideas will be appreciated. Sorry for being so long-winded, but I
wanted to lay the facts out on the table.

Steve Barwick

HI Steve,
— In gallstones@y…, Steve Barwick <barwick@t…
Like your end quote!
Please tell me your results with Julia Chang’s chinese medicine. I
am extremely interested.
I have been using her Gold Coin Grass for approx 1 mo. and have done
one cleanse (the third of my life) last week (which had only a few
stones, but lots of brownish maybe chaf??). This cleanse was nothing
like my first cleanse which seemed to get piles of various coloured
stones.
I have not had any more attacks since a day before my firstcleanse in
Sept. - but after my second cleanse and after a physical exam with
the doctor, I had a continuous gnawing pain. I am assuming that may
be what you were experiencing.
I hypothesize that the gallbladder suffered so much trauma that it is
tender. The flush is a stimulus on the gallbladder - causing muscle
action on already tender muscles.
So possibly, it’s like a day after a heavy work out. Your muscles
are aching, you’re still walking around, but you’re feeling better.
