Hi, all. Sorry this is off-topic. I have heard that there are
dangers of pre-fabricated houses, such as formaldehyde. I have CFIDS
and am trying to get myself as healthy as possible… Can’t find
anything to substantiate any dangers. Anyone out there have any info
on that?
TIA

I would highly recommend that people with chemical sensitivities look into
the Hubbard detox protocol. It’s the best method to get this stuff out of
the fat cells where it’s stored up over the years, and improvement is
dramatic afterwards. I can’t help but think the liver flush will help a lot
as well…get the liver cleaned so it can start clearing some of this junk
out of the system.

Thank you for the info. My dh’s board is considering getting a
pre-fab house for us to move into. I don’t know that I’m particularly
sensitive to any of that, but I have CFIDS and am trying to get myself
(and keep my family) as well as possible. Do you have any links or
articles that I could share with the board?
God bless America!

<<Yes, prefab homes are made with formaldhyde to help preserve and glue
that holds the particle
board pieces in tact. I researched this after I became quite ill a year
and a half after moving
into my first mobile home. Some people can handle this toxicity better
than others. It seems
that toxicity builds up in the system. Antibiotics, bad diet (sugar,
milk products, heavy
startches, etc) create low immune systems and candida. Exposure to
chemicals such as painting
products, etc all add to the toxic load in your system. There are many
factors involved in the
toxic load. I had ‘em all. And add moisture and mold then you can get
quite sick, I even was
developing asthma. Moisture tends to speed up the “out-gassing” of the
mobile home, so the
toxic fumes are greater during wet weather. A mobile home will take a
few years to “out-gas”,
and may never totally be chemical free. May never bother non-sensitive
people. Keep good
ventilation in your home. An air purifier may help pull the gasses out
of the home. But cut
down on sugar and have a good diet, stay away from breathing chemicals.
Keep your immune system
strong. Keep the inside of the home clean and dry. Use bleach water to
disinfect and kill mold.
Keep rodents and roaches from invading the home. They are very toxic and
will make you sick
even if you don’t get diseases from them. Keep your home as dust free
as possible. Taking the
rug out of your sleeping area may help. I was glad I had linoleum
throughout the mobile home
with carpet over, so I removed the carpet from the bedroom and used
clean throw rugs. Much
better. Keep yourself healthy and the home dry and you may be able to
overcome the problems as
the home de-gasses over the first few years. I just sold my mobile home
after 6 years. It did
seem to get a little better but, God willing I won’t have to have
another. This has been my
experience. I did extensive research on the formaldehyde issue, which
amount is within law but
not necessarily healthful.
