Questions on gallbladder flush…

January 29th, 2004 · 2 Comments

Hi,
Okay, I’m new to this list, and I’ve been reading the web site and the
experiences of others from the list, but must admit I am still afraid of
doing this flush.
I’m 47 and for the past few weeks have had four massive GB attacks, that
were absolutely devastating. Way too painful to bear. Local GP sent me
to the ultrasound tech, who took the pictures and verified gallstones.
Naturally, they want to rush me into surgery to remove GB early this
week.
My fear on doing the flush is that the stones in the GB may be too
large, and not make it out of the ducts. If they get stuck, what
happens then? I’ve read on other web sites that this can trigger a
massive GB attack, and cause far more serious problems, resulting in
emergency surgery and possible damage to the pancreas.
Would someone please comment on this. Maybe I just need a shot of

courage. I have to admit that I am vacillating as to whether to just
bite the bullet and go get the surgery, or try the flush. I know I am
solely and completely responsible for my own decision in this regard,
and I accept that. Is there any way to help assure that a stone from
the GB doesn’t get stuck on the way out during the flush? Is there any
way to assure that the olive oil doesn’t trigger another massive painful
attack? Has anyone ever had the flush trigger a worse GB attack?
Again, the pain of the past four attacks has just plain wiped me out.
I’m not sure I can take another bout of this pain. I keep reading that
the flush is painless. But all I can think of is how bad the pain is
when the attacks happen, and what if the olive oil triggers another one,
or what if a stone gets stuck.
Any comments would be deeply appreciated.
Regards,
Steve Barwick

    Hello,
All I can tell you is about what’s happened to me. I can’t guide you, I’m
sorry. You must be the ultimate decider in this incident.
I started having GB attacks over a year ago, but at first, thought it was
reflux problems, which is what it felt like. One time I had an attack of my
“so-called,” what I thought, reflux, but it happened to hurt under my right
rib. Well, I personally concluded gallbladder trouble. I’ve never had it,
but I’ve been around people who did.
So I proceeded to call a good friend of mine named Ron, who for over 10+

years has been doing the GB cleanse, although not Dr. Clark’s cleanse. Still
he’s been doing the cleanse. There’s tons of recipes.
Anyway, I started a healthy diet, Dr. Sandra Cabot’s healthy liver diet at:
liverdoctor.com. After this, I did wonderful for a long time. But in the
1st of December, we had been out of town late, and we decided to stop and eat
at Jack-In-The-Box. I had a grilled chicken sandwich. Actually, I tried to
eat the healthiest thing I could there.
Well, I call that my $1,000 sandwich, because by about 4:30 a.m., I had to go
to ER. We have no medical. It gave me a whang-dang of an attack, to which I
will ALWAYS remember, believe me. I had two shots of demoral and it just
took the edge off just to make me not care that I was STILL hurting. But
they did the sonogram thingie and yes, I had gallstones. I told the doctor
this to begin with, and he stated, ‘I believe your findings are correct.”
This was the NICE doctor. The ER doctor was a butt-head. He said, quote, NO
matter what type of diet you go on, no matter what you do, you’ll be back.
You will NEVER improve this in a million years.
BTW, this was one of those young ER doctors, he had the “deity” image
already, thinking he was a god. They get this way.
So I determined then and there that I would cleanse, cleanse, cleanse. Here
I was in pain, definitely didn’t feel like surgery discussing, and here he
was PREACHING his deity-ship, or whatever.
Well, this was in December. I went through an awful round of very expensive
antibiotics. I hated every minute of it. But guess what I did in January?
I did a cleanse, and I did a good one. Since this time I’ve been doing them
pretty regularly. Now, I should have actually done one a month ago, but we
have a family crises. I did one last night, but I’m not happy with that one.
It seems that you’ll have them good, several in a roll, then you’ll have one
    that’s so-so. It’s weird.
I know 100 percent that you’re scared. I know that I was. I really prepared
my mind for this, and I asked several people. I happen to find Jim first,
and he put my mind at ease. He’s a decent guy, and he really gave me more
    courage.
Then I read over the posts. There are so many successful stories. I just
hope that you’ll take your time, then you’ll figure it out. Honest, I
haven’t had a pain. Just sometimes right after I drink the olive oil and
grapefruit mixture, I get little spasms around my liver/Gb area. I believe
this is normal, and it hasn’t hurt. Like I said, I can’t tell you what to
do. This is my story, and I hope that it helps.
BTW, if I have to ever have GB surgery, that stupid ER doctor won’t see me.
    I’ll go somewhere else.

<< I actually did myself more harm, as the funtion of the
gallbladder is to concentrate the bile salts. So, where I had a small
    problem before,
where I needed to flush and take a fat emulsifier, I now have a much larger
    problem.
You need to think about whether your diet has been responsible or is it a
    liver funtion
problem and is your gallbladder healthy or is it beyond repair. Ask
    quetions, don’t let
doctors fob you off and if you can afford it get a liver function test done.
I am not advocating surgery or not, but be sure you know that it’s
    definately the best for
you before you take that step.

Oh, Jane, I’m sorry that you had to have your GB out. Listen, when I was

reading at Dr. Mercola’s website, which is pretty good, he lists something
that a person needs to take when they’ve had their GB removed. It’s called
Beta Plus. He said that you need it with every meal to help the bile salt
thing. You can buy this at this website. I did find a place where you can
buy it. I’m buying the stuff called Beta TCP, which is for people who still
have their gallbladders. It’s whole organic beets with taurine and something
else. I can’t think what it is. But the stuff that I’m getting thins the
bile down like paint thinner thins paint.
Have you been to Dr. Mercola’s website yet? He’s an osteopathic doctor and
believes in the cleanses. If you’re interested, I’ll send you a link.
    Take care,
    Susie
