lecithin, flax seed oil, etc. Misc Q’s

Ken et al,
Where can I read more about what you wrote to Jens…
what was used in the study to cure most gallstones in 4 months.<<<<
?
That would be great!
This has been the most careful holiday season I have ever had, eating-wise.
!!!
I feel like cutting way-way back on dairy has helped, and I’m wondering if I
have a problem with wheat.
When I eat any pasta, I just blow up, stomach wise and edema. Miserable. I
have had problems with edema for several years, which I think says a lot
about the condition of my liver functions.
I still live with daily discomfort and fear of “the big one.”
One day at a time, I guess….
I’m hoping the flax oil and lecithin will help. (I don’t have any granules-

and wonder why they’re better than liquid caps?) This morning as I took
them (separately) on an empty stomach, I felt a burning sting in the gb like
with the GCG. Interesting.
I want to be using some green drink mix that we have a lot of, called
Emerald Greens. It has a lot of good stuff in it, supposedly. Anyone heard
of it? We ordered it by mail after hearing about it on the radio.
It has, per serving:
soy lecithin 2000mg
spirulina powder 1000mg
apple pectin 670mg
apple fiber
barley grass leaf juice powder
alfalfa juice powder
wheat grass juice
brown rice bran
wheat sprout powder
barley malt
chlorella
beet juice powder
nova scotia dulse
d-alpha tocopherol acetate (E)
bee pollen
probiotic culture 2.5 billion
siberian ginseng
echinacea
astragalus
royal jelly
suma powder
silymarin (milk thistle)
licorice root powder
ginkgo biloba
licorice root extr
grape seed extr
green tea catechins
bilberry extr
-it says total serving wt. is 8555 mg, 1 Tablespoon mixed in juice, daily on
empty stomach.
I’ve used it, but have some stomach upset/pain from it & wonder if it’s the
wheat grass and other wheat products in it, …if I have wheat allergies.
Should I go ahead anyway? We have so much and I would like to use it up.
Will it hurt anything? Cause more irritation? I’m wondering if wheat
allergies get better with improved gb and liver function?
Any opinions on these ingredients in regards to gall bladder troubles?
Didn’t someone post here that milk thistle does something good for the gb?
Ken, what are ox bile salts?
I’ve got a digestive enzyme that has ox bile in it, but it seems to be too
strong and burns.
To those of you who have wheat allergies, what do you replace it with? Wheat
is everywhere!!! Any favorite recipes or ideas?
I’m reading a couple of wheat-free cookbooks.
Here’s another thing… I had bought some magnesium citrate caplets to use
for my flush but “K” posted that they weren’t the right amount of mg’s to
work, so I used epsom salts… so I was reading about magnesium and it’s
benefits as a daily supplement. I’ve been taking 1 or 2 a day, and they seem
to relax my gb and keep things “moving.” Esp. if taken w/ apple juice. Talk
about a clean out. I was wondering, is magnesium a salt or what? When used
for the flush, does it do the same thing as epsom salts… open bile ducts
and cause the laxative effect? If so, could it be relaxing the bile ducts?
even in smaller amounts, daily? I’ve been wondering about this, …my
little theory… and…
I think I caught sight of a ‘greenie’ this a.m. just as I flushed the john!
Wouldn’t that be great if stones are passing w/o even doing a flush? I
actually felt kind of sick and uncomfortable all evening until about 3am.
Pressure, pain, fullness in the gb. Wonder what was going on?
Any ideas on this daily magnesium theory? Anyone?
I wonder what would happen if I took the 2 (the daily dose recommended on
the bottle) magnesium citrate early evening and a little olive oil and
juice at bedtime? (or whenever)…
Well, I’ve rambled on here. I’ve just been wondering about these things for
a while…
Maybe some of you have some answers to my Q’s. If so, thanks in advance.
I’m thankful for this support list. It’s been great.
Here’s to Happy gallbladders!

    Hi Jynene!
I got my information on lecithin from post #3207 and then looking at
the Mt. Sanai information. Lecithin keeps the bile smooth and also
reduces serum cholestorol… Thus two out of three main reasons for
developing gallstones can be helped with lecithin intake.
The third reason for stoen formation is reduced bile slats. I take
ox bile salts, but I believ that it will take some time to see the
    results!
I take liquid lecithin each morning, 1 tablespoon with oj. I also
take flax seed oil with oj. Both on an empty stomach to get the bile
to flow in the am. My stools are soft each morning I do this!
Pasta always gave me a horrible stomach ache… for a year… but I
always felt it was the red sauce. I believe that after my 1st or 2nd
flush I have had no problems with pasta and eat it all the time with
    the red sauce!

I believe that most allergies come from a poorly functioning liver
and digestive system. Milk can cause a great deal of allergies it
    seems!
Your green drink mix sounds like it can cure anything!
The bile salts are most likely not causing the “burning” sensation…
it is most likely the HCL that is found in most digestive enzyes. I
assume that you are eating immediately after you take the enzymes…
Try taking just 1/2 a tablet… I am actually taking more and more!
When was the last time you did a flush? When I start getting
    symptoms for more than 5-7 days… I do a mini flush…. everything
the same, but only 2 days of apple juice… Then I am fine for 2-6
    months!
    Happy New Year!

    Jynene,

When I was ordered urgent surgery I went to my alternative med. dr. and she
said that lots of people that have liver problems have food allergies. She
asked me what I craved more. I said “bread” so she said no more bread for
you :-( for a while. So she took me off bread, milk products, meat products
and had me on mainly a raw food diet. She also had me drink more water. I
think this is one of my worst downfalls :-( (read “Your body’s Many cries
    for water” by F. Batmanghelidh, M.D. …www.watercure.com) Anyway, I didn’t
eat any of these things for a long time. Now I have tried to eat them again

and I do fine, but I don’t eat much of them anyway. I usually eat Ezekiel
bread from the health food store which is sprouted bread. I also abstain
from much pasta because of its glycemic effect. Tomatoe sauce is to be
avoided because it becomes acidic when cooked and therefore can cause
    indigestion very easily.
I try to maintain my body on an alkaline level and can see a big difference
in the way my digestion and energy does.

Milk thistle and its active component, known as silymarin, are nature’s
offering for optimal liver protection. It is the leader among treatments for
chronic liver disease. It is also emerging as an important supplement for
those desiring to optimize liver function and maximize the detoxifying
    potential of this important organ.
Well, I hope some of this helps.
