Hi Debra!
I am sorry to hear about your gb and if the doctor’s diagnosis is
correct… it is time to lose it!
The gb is not a surperfluous organ, yet it can be lived without! MY
Dad had his out at 44 and he is now 70. He eats whatever he wants
and has NO stomach problems. He does do flushes and other healthy
things for his body from time to time.
If you eat right and take care of your body, the liver will develop
larger storage sacs to compensate for the concentrated bile the gb
delivers. My main concern would be to stay away from fatty foods as
they may not digest as well. I question if there is a correlation
between gb removal and weight gain… Maybe there is weight gain
because you can eat whatever you want and not get sick!
The operation will go very smoothly… you will be asleep in just
moments and then back awake with maybe a headache. I’ll be praying
for you and wish I knew exactly the time you are to undergo surgery…
Keep us informed and thanks for being part of our group!
