FIRST FLUSH

April 30th, 2003 · 17 Comments

Hello!,
Well, I did it…
Last Sunday night I did my first flush…
Not nearly as bad as I was fearing it would be!
I passed about 10-15 VERY small pea-colored stones…Wasn’t really
even sure if they WERE stones until…
I had a consultaion appt. w/ a surgeon on Monday, and I wanted to
flush before hearing that I shouldn’t!
He showed me many different sizes of stones that had been removed
from people…Sure enough, there were the little ittie-bitties!
We discussed the possibility of flushing…He assured me that it
would promptly trigger an attack because of the olive oil…(Smile).
Planning on doing my next one in a couple of weeks.
I have ordered Dr. Cabot’s book and am anxiously awaiting delivery…
Has anyone been following her advice?

Thanks,
Cindy

No. But I was taking gold coin grass, coptus
and curcuma, for about two weeks before the flush.

    Helen,
Here is a recipe from a website that I found. It has no epsom salts. There
is a substitute for epsom salts, but I can’t remember the name. It’s
magnesium-something. This person does warn that you may have an acid stomach
the next morning, so have something around that cuts the acid, be it Maalox,
    whatever.
Let us all know how this works or whichever recipe you use.
    Susie
    ***************************************
1, Get a 12-ounce bottle of olive oil. Be sure to get the purest virgin olive
    oil. It has less acid.
    2. Get a small bottle of lemon juice or get six lemons and extract the juice.
Note: If you have a very severe problem it is recommended that you take a
16-ounce bottle of olive oil and lemon juice (approximately eight lemons).
On the day that you are to take the treatment do not eat anything after the

noon meal. A good time to start is five or six in the evening.
    1. Take 3 tablespoons of olive oil.
    2. Immediately follow with 2 teaspoons of unsweetened lemon juice.
After the initial dose, at intervals of ten minutes, repeat the same dose in
exactly the same manner until all of the olive oil has been taken. Follow the
last dose of olive oil with two tablespoons of lemon juice.
The lemon juice “lays” the oil and reduces the possibility of nausea
occurring during the treatment. Some patients may throw-up some of the olive
oil, but that simply means that it was an excess amount that will not reduce
the full benefit of the treatment. The full benefit and results will be
obtained if all the oil is taken. It is very important that that the entire
amount of olive oil and lemon juice be taken on the same evening and in the
sequence and in the time described above.
What we are doing is saturating the gallbladder and the gallbladder duct with
the olive oil to dissolve the stones and the scale that the oil comes in
    contact with.
Remember that even if you vomit some of the oil you must continue the
treatment and take the olive oil on the ten-minute interval between doses.
The olive oil has a soothing, softening effect on the gallstones. Therefore,
you must take the entire dose to avoid leaving stones part way down the duct
and possible biliary colic in two or three days when the stones move without
the benefit of the oil. If this should occur simply take a few ounces of live
    oil and lemon juice.
As mentioned above, in cases of very severe gallbladder problems the dose can
    be increased as follows:
Take 16-ounces of olive oil followed with the same dose of lemon juice on the
same intervals; the rest of the procedure is the same.

I believe that 16 oz of olive oil on a first flush is WAY TO MUCH and
taking it over a few hour period could lead to an attack for a first
time flusher. Helen, it is best for a first flush to go a much more
traditional flush route. I am attaching a post I made a year ago
listing my flush which is a variation on 2-3 traditional approaches.
Sludge is the build up of cholestorol chunks in both the liver and
gb. These chunks start as specs and can grow to be quite large.
They are usually greenish/black on the outside and when cut open they
are quite clearish green and lighter green. Some are tan.
Sludge builds up when the ratio of cholestorol is too high in
comparison with the bile salts and lecithin in the gb and liver. Once
the liver and gb are clogged, the chunks begin to multiply as they
    cannot be easily passed.
The flush gets the gb and liver to push out everything it can.
Overwhelming the liver/gb with olive oil makes them push to deliver

enough bile to digest the oils fats.
Olive oil DOES NOT lubricate and break down sludge. It simply is the
catalyst to force the gb to deliver what its got in it. The apple
juice and its chemicals do the softening of gallstones and sludge.
Epsom salts are the SAME and Magnesium Sulphate. I take disodium
phosphate in capsules to avoid the disgusting taste of Epsom salts.
A laxative of thiese types is HIGHLY recommended for a first time
flushee. Helen, you would be wise to take a strong laxative of some
sort to get your system flowing for the flush. A later flush can be
    tried without the laxative.
Granulated Lecithin can be purchased at an health food store. I buy
it in the bulk bin section of Henry’s and Jimbos in California.
I hope this is helpful… The following is my flush!
    ken
-My typical flush consists of 3-5 days of organic apple juice
(ideally 1/2 gallon a day. The day of the flush I drink my 1/2
gallon or more in the morning. By then things are already flushing!
A very light lunch at 12.00
Disodium phosphate capsules at 5:00 and again at 7:00 p.m.
Fasting until 11:00 p.m. Then 1/2 to 3/4 cup organic extra virgin
olive oil with a little lemon juice in the mix.
Straight to bed, knee up on the right side for 20-30 minutes.
Usually I go sound asleep until 6:00 a.m. All that comes out for the
next 3-6 hours are clumps and stones… no digested food!
Why apple juice? … I understand that the apple juice has a
    number of functions:
    1) Acts to stimulate the liver to spill bile! Yes, you don’t go
running to the restroom constantly beacuse of the apple juice
alone… Chemicals (god ones) in the juice cause the liver to spill
bile and acts as a grea laxative to get everything moving.
Most flushers feel a huge discomfort in the upper abdomin area when
we drink a lot of apple juice. The first day I can feel my bile
flowing out to the juice and it gives me a sick, uncomfortable
feeling for 15-20 minutes until I run to the restroom and purge.
Why organic aplle juice? Can you even imagine the concentration of
pesticides and chemicals you will get if it is not organic!?
    2) Getting everything moving and cleaned out is essential for the
flush to be effective. If the liver and gallbladder sense that
things are backed up… they are smart enough not to send all they
got as it will only cause further problems down the line.
    3) The olive oil doesn’t lubricate anything, it is as you surmise,
the fat necessary for the gallbladder to erupt. Why not saturated
fat????? Because some of us would die!!!! of a heart attack!!!
Saturated fats not only would get the gallbladder to erupt, but also
would immediately go to the heart by sludging up the blood. Many
heart attacks come after fatty meals from sludgy blood… why do you
think the say take an aspirin a day to keep the blood thinned?
    4) The liver and gb sense that all is clear and it is ok to give
everything they got to digest the olive oil. Dale’s colonic seems to
provide the same effect. It is quite possible that the olive oil
gets up into the common duct and helps to lubricate it while the
    stones pass.
    5) Disodium phosphate or epsom salts clean out the body completely
prior to the flush… perhaps the also help to expand the ducts.
Friends of mine clain to have “grape sized” stones that come out.
Doctor’s seem to believe that the largest stone that can pass is 1
inch in diameter. That is still huge!
    I hope this is helpful… ken a.

Where would one buy disodium phosphate? Also, where could I get
empty capsules to put it in? It’d be really great if there was a
good and very affordable online store.

    Hi Sonny!
The Standand Process Disodium Ph. is in geletin capsules. You can
take it out of the capsules and repackage it in your own capsules or
mix it with water and drink… now your back to epsom slats, but the
taste is not quite as bad!

  • 6 sue16 // Oct 23, 2003 at 12:16 pm

Seems like a waste to buy it in the first place then…where can one
get empty vegetarian capsules for a good price? And how hard is it
to put epsom salts (or any other powder) into capsules? Is there any
special equipment required? What size capsules should one get?
    Thanks again,
    Sonny

I completed my first flush today. As written before, I do not have
gallbladder attacks, but unhealthy stools (dark, somewhat narrow
sinkers, sometimes a mud) and various minor disease symptoms (I have
lupus). I’d like to brush up the whole system, especially the
    digestion.
In the previous weeks and months I passed a few things without
approaching a big flush: On one occasion, a couple of “peas”, green
on the one side, light brown on the other. A number of times
white-yellow chaff, and/or sort of compressed maize (corn) grains.
Once recently, very dark, pea-sized stuff was embedded in the stool
    — I don’t know where that came from (but see below for something
similar). On one occasion, I had experimented with a small amount of
olive oil and citrus fruit in the evening, at another point I had
eaten a can of Thaikitchen coconut soup (with lemon juice in it).
Once, I was a bit ill. Other times, I mini-flushed without apparent

reason. Maybe at least some of the floating material really belonged
together with the stools, but had separated. I have been taking
various substances, such as aloe vera juice, olive leaf extract,
garlic and coconut, and also a couple of one-shot intestinal flushes.
    I take cod-liver oil daily.
Now I did the “standard” cleanse as per H. Clark and others. My
breakfast on the first day was oatmeal and oat bran porridge (and an
apple), which actually does contain up to 7 % fat; I’ll go with fruit
only the next time. I used the amount of oil for the cleanse advised
by Clark. The citrus fruit was one sweetie and one lemon, slightly
more than the amount of oil.
The magnesium sulphate didn’t have much taste at all, although
admittedly a little worse in the morning (maybe the taste buds are
rejuvinated by a night’s sleep?). The oil/fruit potion went down
equally easily (although it’s not anything I would drink for
pleasure). But I woke up a bit nauseated in the night — it was gone
in the morning, and I wasn’t on the verge of throwing up.
Could adding ginger to the potion prevent nausea occurring long after
    taking the drink?
Now, a problem was that I didn’t need to go to the toilet until
around potion time at 10pm, so the dirrhea disturbed the programme. I
know I shouldn’t have been more than 15 minutes late for the
oil/fruit, but I was 25 minutes late. After drinking it (quickly), I
gave priority to laying down, lying still on my back for the advised
20 minutes, then inserting a short trip to the toilet. I tried to
    relax.
I woke up close to 3am (somewhat nauseated, as said). I have frequent
urination and usually get up once a night, and had to this time, too.
I eliminated the rest of the Epsom water, too, it seemed. I slept
until about 8am and took the 3rd cup of salts, the last one two hours
later. As far as I remember, the stones and stuff started coming
about half an hour before the last cup, and I think there were about
four stonish sessions throughout the middle of the day (later liquid
    only).
There wasn’t that much coming out compared to what many of you report
here. There were lentil-sized dark green stones, a few very dark,
almost black, stones slightly larger than peas (the hemolysis ones in
the curezone.com picture?), some chaff and probably different other
things… I didn’t inspect it thoroughly and don’t plan on doing that
either. Not a great many stones, but certainly some, and green,
bile-y water. At one time I saw a very large, almost black
“creature”: from the liver? bowel plaque? I don’t know.
Now, later on the second day, I feel a very slight pain between the
    shoulders, which I usually don’t have (the pain, I mean). I don’t
know if it means that there are more stones queing up, being kind of
activated by the cleanse (I’m only speculating).
The next time I will maybe try some yoga excercises in an attempt to
make the Epsom water move faster through the system on the first
night. Does anyone else have problems with the timing of bathroom
visits and taking the oil/fruit drink?
I also will have a closer look at ways to cleanse slowly, like taking
milk thistle, if I can find it, and eating certain foods.

Oops! I wasn’t quite finished flushing yet. Got a few more stones
now, mostly medium green, about lentil-sized.
In one of my previous “mysterious” mini-flushes without flushing, I
got out two pink, strange things, which I did not want to inspect.
Maybe 1 x 1.5 cm. I also got out a very large, almost square, light
grey stone (maybe 1.5 x 2 cm?), but I’ve written that before. I
didn’t inspect that one either. Could have been a calcified
    gall-/liverstone.

I think it’s certainly worth a try. What form of ginger did you have in
mind? If you have a juicer and put it through that, I’m sure you wouldn’t
have a problem. You wouldn’t (as I’m sure you know) want to have any solid
type food (as in eating the actual ginger root) during this time, though.
Congratulations on going through with the cleanse!!

Thanks for your reply. No, I don’t have a blender. :-( I based myself
    on this post:
“For some of you who are experiencing nausea after ingesting the
olive oil mixture, you may need to add fresh ginger into the blend
and even save aside a piece to chew on to help stop the nausea.
    Hope this helps……Betsy”
but here it’s suggested to chew on a piece (urgh) to help stop the
nausea, and I was thinking profylactic.

I did my first liver flush this past weekend with Hulda Clark’s
recipe. I was so nervous. I got out hundreds of stones, some tiny,
some up to 3/4 inch long. I also used a hot water bottle over my
gall bladder, which helped I think. I had been noticing that I have
slight chest pain after eating fatty meals, and thought this would be
a good idea. I’m 40 and in good health besides being overweight.
I’ve also heard this can help allergies, which I have.
My one problem with the flush was that the epsom salts gave me
terrible diarrhea. My bowels turned to liquid about an hour before I
drank the oil. I managed to sleep through the night, but Sunday I
ran to the bathroom with liquid stools about 25 times. Is this
normal? Should I reduce the amount of epsom salts next time? If so,
    how much should I use?
I haven’t decided if I feel better today or not. I feel kind of
strange. Maybe my body is re-settling any remaining stones. I feel

happy that I got so many out. I am already looking forward to the
    next cleanse.
I am trying to convince my DH to do this. He’s already had his
gallbladder out 6 years ago due to gallstones at age 29. He thinks I
am nuts for doing this. I showed him the stones, but all he said
was “gross”. He said how do I know that isn’t just digested olive
oil? He is so in denial.

    Dear Lisa,
I had the same problem as you re: diarrhea. No fun having a burnt
    Bum:(
Yes, you could use less epsom salts, just experiment. I ended up
using 2 Tblsp. + 2 tsp. for the whole flush instead of the 4 Tbsp
that Hulda Clark recommends. Some people are just more sensative
    than others.
I also use pure red grapefruit juice instead of water to mix the
    epsom salts in.
I’m just beginning to feel a slight tenderness below my right ribs
and plan to do another flush to put my body back into shape.

Very nervous completed first flush at the weekend expelled several
stones mainly like granite a few the size of grapes the granite!
    green the grapes beige.
Have had extremely bad pain didn’t fancy surgery.
What I would like to know is am I cured or do I have to repeat this
procedure over and over as found the epsom salts so bad I wanted to
chuck and I am good at taking ghastly things!

tried my first flush on Monday night and was really disappointed after
getting only one small stone, a yellow bumpy one only a quarter inch round
    at most.
Could not wait, however, to try again since I was not severely affected by
the first flush other than diarrhea.
Tried second flush two days later Wednesday night and other than not
stirring the oil and grapefruit juice and getting a big gulp of oil while
trying to swallow Ornithine capsules, everything went well again, this time
    with some results.
20 or so pea green stones, largest about 1/2 inch(1cm)
300-400 yellow gravely stones, 1/4 inch or less.
Well that’s my story, now for a little test….Homemade Pork Chop Soup!

hello, My husband and I just completed our first liver and gall
bladder cleanse. I was diagnosed with gallstones about 2 weeks ago,
he hasn’t had any problems, just figured it would be something good to
do. We both passed these lumps, kind of yellow/green on the outside,
they were solid, but not hard, they could be smashed with a spoon.
They were very green inside. Are these gall stones? I hope so, I
would not look forward to doing that flush again. Thanks for your
    feedback, Carrie

    Hello.
I did my first flush last evening. WOW! About 250-300 stones. Some
pretty big ones too. Many many smaller yellow ones that I did not
even count into this total. A little discomfort during the night, I
had to take ALKA-AID during the night. But this morning, I proved to
myself that my food intolerances and my other digestive problems were
    related to liver stones.
